Rochester High Street Flowers

See behind the scenes as the summer flower baskets are installed

On a very soggy morning in May, five wonderful friends – Sian, Nadine, Nicola, Sally and Sarah planted up over 50 flower containers in King’s Orchard (courtesy of Rochester Cathedral) with fabulous plants supplied at nearly cost price by Homeleigh Garden Centre on the Ratcliffe Highway.

On a sunny morning in June another group of wonderful people spent 4 hours swapping the winter containers for the summer ones along Rochester High Street.

A huge thank you to Paul and Sally Schmoeger, Stephen and Margot Moriarty, Brian Crundell and Stuart and Sarah Tranter.

The money for the flowers (and some new containers for the railings at Star Hill), was raised from the profits of the Rochester City Vintage & Artisan Market which is run by the Rochester City Centre Forum.  And of course – huge thanks to the watering team at Medway Norse who keep them looking fabulous all summer!!
